Greek wines: a region with a unique microclimate.
The Mantineia plateau is located in the heart of the Peloponnese, at a high average altitude. It is surrounded by five mountains. While the region enjoys a generally Mediterranean climate, it also benefits from specific conditions. Indeed, there is significant sunlight (approximately 235 days), while most rainfall occurs in the winter. Moreover, temperatures experience considerable variation, both between day and night, as well as between seasons. These climatic conditions are ideal for the late ripening of grapes.
These particularly favorable climatic conditions make this region one of the centers of organic farming in Greece.

Greek wines: Our partner, Domaine Troupis Winery
Troupis Winery is a family-owned estate that has spanned three generations. In the 1970s, Yannis Troupis’ grandfather, the current manager, founded the estate. He cultivated his vines and sold his grapes. It wasn’t until 2010 that Yannis Troupis and his wife Panagiota revived the vineyard and decided to produce their own wine. They have since contributed to the expansion and modernization of the estate. Today, the third generation, with their son Thodoris, is also involved, contributing to the development of new grape varieties.
The Troupis estate covers nearly 70 hectares. The Assyrtiko grape variety occupies 10 of these hectares, while the remainder of the estate is predominantly planted with Moschofilero, the flagship grape of the region.
The estate is increasingly focusing on organic farming and environmentally friendly practices. It places particular emphasis on the winemaking methods used for its wines.
The estate produces 13 different vintages: 5 rosés, 4 dry whites and 1 sweet white, and 3 reds, including the Nemea.
Each year, for nearly three years, the wines of Troupis Winery have been recognized at various exhibitions and competitions as the best Greek wines in their category. They have also received numerous awards.
